Today, let's talk about a cherished tradition in Japan known as "koinobori" or carp streamers.

 

In Japan, as May 5th rolls around, you'll see a beautiful sight of colorful carp streamers swaying in the wind atop homes and in public spaces.

Koinobori has been cherished for centuries as a symbol of the healthy growth and happiness of boys, particularly celebrated on Children's Day.

These photos were taken at Murasaki river in Fukuoka, where 600 koinobori were displayed.
